Have you had your friends over since this whole mess started?
We hosted our first dinner party over the weekend. I wanted simple, fast, minimal clean up, CoVid friendly, you know the basics. 🤷🏻♀️ On a serious note I mostly wanted everyone to feel as safe as possible. While still making it fun for everyone and as close to normal as we can get.
Steps to making socialising/eating while social distancing fun:
Chips and dip are a must for me when drinking, I bought all new salsa, hummus, and dips. Gave each guest their own individual dipping bowl + spoon. NO sharing….lol! This situation is doing wonders for my OCD, you have no idea.
Appetisers, roasted veggies on a platter, and the food went straight from the grill to their plates! No contact with anything.
So how did I serve my favourite part of ANY meal, the salad????
buy romaine lettuce, tear away the outer leaves and get to the part that can be filled like a bowl.
fill with shredded carrots, sliced cucumbers, sliced scallions, cherry tomatoes serve in a big platter. let guests know to pick up their own individual salad, load it up with anything they want and add dressing.
leave dressing on the table mixed ready for guests to pour over their own salad.
That’s it!!!!
I’m big on having lots of dishes to share so I had to improvise. These individualised mini romaine salads saved the day for me!!! So cute, so easy and fun. You pick it up, fill it with whatever you want, add dressing and your salad is ready. No stress, no mess. No shared spoons or bowls. Salad dressing on the table which I had already mixed, ready to serve & of course my favourite @traderjoes green goddess vegan dressing.
We had SO much fun which is the best part ...who really cares about the food right? Just kidding, I do. 🙋🏻♀️
XOXO
