February is heart health Month! Happy Heart Month! On Valentine's day we are exposed to so many matters of the heart, love, kindness, the joy of relationships and friendship but how many of us stop to think about the one muscle in our body that never stops beating....our hearts!!!!!
356 days a year, 24/7 our hearts are keeping us alive....here are a few ways to keep them happy and healthy:
1. Don't smoke please, it's an awful habit....and its painfully addictive. Save your money and save your life....if you need to make one decision to save your life today, let this be it...#stopsmoking.
2. Exercise at least 5 days of the week for about 30 mins, make time for it, its worth it and you will soon learn to love the happy feeling of a good walk or jog. Exercise has the capacity to be a great anti-depressant and it releases a bunch of happy hormones that make you feel happier and sexier.
3. Eat well, you've heard it before, eat the colors of the rainbow and if you must add animal food, keep it lean and keep it light. Easy on the salt and easy on the oils, fat tastes great, but it clogs your arteries.
4. Add some red wine to your life, in moderation it is good for you don't go overboard, it will have the opposite effect! Always remember to hydrate while you are drinking.
5. Laugh, love, and be surrounded by happy thoughts. Keep your stress levels to a minimum, find what makes you happy and keep using this formula. Don't settle and let yourself down, you are in charge of your good health serve yourself well.
Lastly, add some of these gorgeous berries to your life, you won't be sorry. Blueberries are rich in Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, fiber, folate, Vitamin C and are well known for their strong antioxidant properties. If you choose to make any changes this month, go out and buy yourself some blueberries, have a glass of wine with friends over dinner, get out and get moving, find a moment to meditate even if its 5 mins and celebrate your life and your health! Both are a blessing!
