Breaking habits is a hard concept for many of us. In fact, for a lot of people it can feel almost impossible. The notion that we are reliant on certain behaviors from smoking, to comfort eating, a sugar fix at 5pm, a glass of wine π·, that coffee βοΈ first thing in the am, serial dating people that do us no good, losing our tempers, even complaining makes us feel weak or ashamed. When faced with changing in grained behaviors we wonder how?
Habits are cultivated over time β±and also learned behaviors which makes them hard to change. But with a little positive reinforcement and a lot of commitment you can do it. Substituting positive habits for negative ones makes it a lot easier. We had to crawl before we walked right? Make a commitment to change its liberating.
Meditation, journaling, evening herbal tea ritual, adding a glass of water π¦ before each π₯ meal or snack, taking deep breaths throughout our day to stay calm all help to make small changes.
